Chameleon Art Projects is proud to be associated with Goa Photo 2015

Goa Photo is a public art photography festival that proposed a celebration of photography outside the gallery, the studio, the museum and the archive. It aims to emphasize the democratic qualities of the medium.

This will be the first edition of an annual international photography festival to be held across the city of Panaji and in the Reis Magos Heritage Centre, and along the Mandovi River. Over a period of ten days, the festival will transform the city and the fort into a platform for showcasing contemporary photography.

Goa Photo is a curated event. For its first edition, the theme selected is THE OTHER, which refers to the sense of otherness that both, the photographer and sitter feel when confronted with each other at the moment a portrait is taken.

This edition is curated by Frank Kalero, who us a curator from Spain, of international repute.

The exhibitions consist of photographs printed in large formats and displayed on building facades and light boxes, which will be installed in public spaces. By synergizing with the urban landscape and heritage sites of the city and its surroundings, the festival will bolster initiatives to valorize the patrimony of the venues.

Goa Photo is proud to announce a partnership with Magnum Photos, one of the world's most important and prestigious photography agencies, which will also be organizing 2 workshops during the festival.

The festival also offers events, workshops and collateral exhibitions across the city.
